** The case of a Nova Scotia paramedic, accused of sexually assaulting female patients in his care, has been delayed again, this time due to a required DNA analysis. The Cape Breton Post (November 26) said lawyers for suspended Kentville practitioner James Duncan Keats, 48, have asked for an adjournment until January. According to the newspaper, new information has been obtained in relation to charges based in Hants County. Keats is facing 14 separate charges dealing with females aged 24-71-years-of-age. The tags include sexual assault and breach of trust. The charges reach back to September 2012. Keats, meanwhile, remains under house arrest. The next court date is now January 28th.

** A power outage in Brownsville, Texas last week that shut down ambulance dispatching for some 2 hours was caused by moisture in related electrical systems. That is the word from KRGV (November 25) which said the glitch also impacted police and fire. According to the news station, dispatchers resorted to communicating with emergency crews through email and cell phones. In response to the problem, officials merely told media that response times were slower than standard.
