** Former Massachusetts EMT dead in apparent murder/suicide
** Florida Coast Guard still searching for missing 2 from air ambulance crash
UNITED STATES NEWS
** A former Arlington, Massachusetts EMT was found dead Monday at his home in what police are insinuating was a murder/suicide. WHDH (Dan Hausle/November 18) said the bodies of Scott Jones, his wife Mel Kum and their twin 11-month-old sons Colt and Cameron were discovered at their apartment after a friend decided to do a wellness check. 7News (Jonathan Hall/November 20) said Scott Jones had worked for Action Ambulance for eight years and had been recognized by Congressman Ed Markey for heroism. He left the service in 2000 to become a radiology technician. A police record showed he was arrested in December 2007 for not paying child support to his first wife. His EMS licence had been suspended the previous week.
** Florida authorities continued their Atlantic Ocean search yesterday for two people who may have survived the Tuesday crash of an air ambulance . KAJ 18 (November 20) said Coast Guard crews have already recovered the bodies of a man and a woman in the waters off Fort Lauderdale. All four people onboard the Air Evac International Learjet 35 were Mexican citizens. The crew complement included a doctor, nurse, and two pilots. The plane, which was bound for Cozumel after a patient drop-off, had just taken off from Fort Lauderdale when the pilot radioed air control that one of the engines was failing. Seconds later a mayday was issued. Names of the dead and missing have not yet been released.
