** Pennsylvania EMT/firefighter killed in farm accident
CANADA NEWS
** A Kentville, Nova Scotia paramedic, accused of sexually assaulting two patients, will have two days in court to face the accusations. That is the word from the Chronicle Herald (Sherri Borden Colley/October 7) which said James Duncan Keats, 47, will appear before a judge Tuesday and on November 5th. According to the newspaper, the delay in the second proceeding relates to the defence not yet having received disclosure from the Crown. Today’s case, meanwhile, relates to the alleged sexual assault of a 71-year-old woman during a September 2012 hospital transport. The same woman also claims Keats assaulted her on May 26th when EMS was called to her home to attend another person. The second case deals with a 32-year-old woman who also says she was assaulted during a January 31st hospital transport. Pending the outcome of the case, Keats remains suspended from his job. His licence has also been revoked.
