** Paramedic in Denmark charged with raping female patient
** Florida paramedic drowns after off-duty diving mishap

** A private ambulance medic working in Slagelse has been charged with raping a patient. That is the word from The Copenhagen Post (October 18) which said the practitioner, who has since left his position with the Falck EMS company, was charged in the attack after only a month on the job. According to the newspaper, the 17-year-old intoxicated female victim told authorities she felt sedated at the time of the alleged assault. The provider, who has not been named, admitted to a consensual sexual encounter while en route to hospital. The driver of the ambulance, as well as a female passenger riding up front, said they were unaware anything untoward had occurred.

** A Lake County, Florida paramedic is dead after drowning while on a diving expedition Thursday. KeysNews (Adam Linhardt/October 19) said Joseph Dragojevich, 43, who was a captain with Lake County EMS, was diving on the sunken Navy Ship Spiegel Grove when he vanished around 4:15 p.m. The undertaking was a penetration dive into the ship which was also the site of the 2007 deaths of three New Jersey divers. Dragojevich’s body was recovered from inside the wreck just after noon Friday. He had worked EMS for the past fourteen years. Dragojevich was divorced with children.
