** A Morristown, New Jersey EMT, arrested last year for shaking his 6-month-old son, has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. That is the word from the Star-Ledger (Ben Horowitz/August 7) which said Lawrence Biehler, 34, copped to a tag of fourth-degree child neglect. Biehler was arrested last February 10th after his son suffered both head and eye injuries. He was originally charged with second-degree child endangerment and aggravated assault x 2. Morris County Assistant Prosecutor LaJuan Tucker said the plea deal was arranged at the behest of the baby’s mother. Along with being placed on probation, Biehler could also end up in the clink for 180 days. Biehler will be formally sentenced September 13th in Morristown Superior Court. Suspended following his arrest, he is now trying to resume work as an EMT.
** An Antrim, New Hampshire paramedic is set to appear in court August 12th on drug charges related to thefts at his ambulance service. The Ledger Transcript (Dave Anderson/August 7) said Peterborough Fire and Ambulance Department medic Jeremy Bouchard, 34, was arrested Saturday. According to the newspaper, Bouchard allegedly stole both morphine and fentanyl from ambulances between August 2012 and August 2013. He has since left his job and is out on a $50,000 personal recognizance.
