** A Florida paramedic will likely lose his job after a careless driving conviction involving the death of an unborn child. WINK News (July 25) said Fort Myers resident Harris Berenson was also tagged with a $1,000 fine and a six month driver’s licence suspension. According to the newspaper, Berenson hit the SUV being driven by pregnant woman Kristina Childs February 28th. Berenson was transporting a non-emergent patient when he blew a stop sign and slammed into Childs’ car at an intersection. Police later said he had been travelling 17mph over the posted limit.
