** Indiana paramedic/firefighter found dead at home;investigation started

** Female Australian paramedic kicked twice in the head by teenaged boy during call

** Funeral services are set for today in Lebanon for an Indiana paramedic/firefighter found dead at his Zionsville home Monday. Fox59 (March 6) said Cody Richardson, 26, was discovered unresponsive later in the day after having completed his work shift at 7 a.m. According to the news site, police are investigating. Richardson has worked full time for the Zionsville Fire Department since 2008. He leaves a wife and family behind.

** A female paramedic from Western Australia is recovering after being kicked in the head Tuesday by a teenaged male patient. The Daily Telegraph (Phil Hickey/March 6) said the practitioner, who was responding to a call in Mandurah around 5:30 p.m., was treating the youth after being dispatched to tend to a 17-year-old apparently unconscious on the ground. According to the newspaper, once inside the ambulance the boy kicked the woman twice in the head before kicking and punching the face of her male partner. Both providers sustained only minor injuries during the attack. The teen, meanwhile, was arrested and charged with assault of a public officer x 2. He appeared in court Wednesday.
