** Delaware paramedic falls 50 ft from bridge

** Female UK medic hailed as hero after saving unconscious woman from fire

** A Delaware paramedic is in hospital in serious condition after falling 50 feet from a bridge on which he was responding to several mvas Monday. That is the word from WPVI (February 11) which said the practitioner took the fall while attempting to jump over a divide. He landed in a creek beneath the structure. According to the news service, the incident occurred in the early morning hours around 12:30 a.m. in Delaware Park. There is no word on the extent of the practitioner’s injuries.

** A female Birmingham paramedic is being lauded as a hero after saving an unconscious woman from a house fire Saturday morning. The BBC (February 10) said West Midlands Ambulance Service medic Danielle Prosser made the rescue after being hailed to the woman’s home for a cardiac arrest around 1:45 a.m. Seeing no flames outside the house when she arrived, Prosser saw upon entering that the structure was rapidly being engulfed. Both the 50sish woman and her husband were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The woman endured serious burns to her body, while her husband sustained singes to his hands and suffered smoke inhalation. Service spokesman James Williams said the organization was proud Danielle had risked her life to save others.
