** A West Virginia combat medic, killed while tending a wounded soldier in World War II France, will be honored by his home state by the naming of a bridge in his memory. That is the word from the Associated Press (May 26) which said Technician Fifth Grade Victor A. Osburn will see the Buckhannon span connecting Randolph and Upshur counties bear his moniker. Along with being a medic, Ellamore resident Osburn was also a paratrooper. He was awarded the Silver Star and two Purple Hearts prior to his death in August 1944.
