** A 21-year-old Royal Navy medic has been awarded a medal for courage for saving the lives of others while under enemy fire in Afghanistan. ITV News (March 23) said Medical Assistant Liam O’Grady was given the Military Cross for Bravery Friday. According to the news site, O’Grady aided a wounded patrol sergeant while being pelted with grenades. He then dragged the man, who had wounds to his chest, to safety but not before sustaining wounds of his own in his face and legs. He also provided lifesaving treatment to four other soldiers and assisted in carrying a further 3 men some 800 metres away from harm’s way. O’Grady, who is based at Gosport, Hampshire, returned to Afghanistan a mere three weeks after receiving UK medical treatment following the incident.
