** Slain New York EMT to have full FDNY honors funeral

** New York EMT arrested for multiple rapes

** The Tuesday funeral of a New York EMT, gunned down Sunday after a fight over a parking spot, will be with full FDNY honors. The New York Post (Larry Celona/Leonard Green/Susan Edelman/July 21) said the ceremony will include participation from the service’s Pipes and Drums Unit and will see an honor guard line the rear of the hearse as the coffin is loaded. The decision to honor the life of Jason Green in this manner has, however, sparked criticism from within EMS ranks. One unidentified medic said the funeral pomp was ridiculous given that Green’s name was under a cloud both with the way he died and the ongoing criminal investigation against him. At the time of his death, Green was being investigated for a December incident in which seizure patient Eutisha Rennix died after he failed to render assistance.

** New York police have charged an FDNY EMT with rape in connection with five different incidents reaching back to 2001. WABC-TV New York (Scott Curkin/July 21) said Angus Pascall, 33, who has worked for the department for five years, was taken into custody following an assault on July 19th. According to the news site, that day Pascall allegedly raped a 20-year-old woman at gunpoint after forcing her into his car. Just 8 days previous, he is believed to have sodomized an 11-year-old girl in the elevator of her building;an EMS key may have been used to gain access to the site. Prior assaults occurred in 2009 and 2001. Police say three victims have positively identified Pascall, who has been on restricted duties since January due to assaulting his girlfriend.
