UNITED KINGDOM NEWS

** Hemel ambulance bosses are crying foul after a yob deflated an emergency vehicle tire while a medic was treating a collapsed patient. Hemel Today (Jake Rushby/April 14) said the Tuesday night incident, which took place as the practitioner joined an ambulance crew transporting the man to hospital, waylaid the EMS car for upwards of one hour. ** Court proceedings continue against a Denilquin ambulance medic accused of murdering his wife after marrying her for her money. The Independent (April 13) said Des Campbell, 52, has pleaded not guilty to the 2005 Royal National Park fall death of Janet Fisicaro, 49. According to the newspaper, prosecutors are alleging Campbell murdered Fisicaro on a camping trip just six months after their wedding;the couple’s camp site was located next to the 170 ft. drop that claimed Fisicaro’s life. Along with failing to attend his wife’s funeral, the Sydney court heard Campbell left on holidays with a girlfriend the same day. Two other paramours were also involved with him. (additional info from Larissa Cummings/Daily Mail/April 15). Along with his EMS career, the Daily Mail (Richard Shears/April 14) noted Campbell was a former UK policeman who worked in Surrey during the 1990s.
