** Off duty Delaware paramedic found shot in his car

** California paramedic sustains head injury after dragging by drunk driver

** Police in Bear, Delaware continue to investigate, after a Thursday incident in which an off-duty paramedic was found inside a car suffering from a gunshot wound. WPVI (April 8) said the 1:30 p.m. discovery occurred after police officers were called to the scene by a passer by. According to the news site, the unidentified practitioner is employed with New Castle County. He was medevaced to Christiana Hospital by a state police chopper. Authorities have not released the medic`s name or the extent of his injuries.

** A Bakersfield, California paramedic continues to recover from an on-the-job head injury sustained last Thursday after she was dragged by a drunk driver she had tried to help. KERO 23 (April 9) said the woman and her partner responded to an MVA around 5 a.m., immediately spying a truck parked on the wrong side of the road. Approaching the vehicle at the driver`s side, the open windowed car  accelerated, forcing the woman to hold on or be run over. Remaining at the window frame briefly, the medic hit her head when her grip released. The driver of the truck, John Edward Gombos, 21, was arrested shortly afterwards at his home. He has been charged with DUI, causing injury, and hit-and-run causing injury.
