** Suspected engine failure brings down Russian air ambulance

** New York EMT arrested after allegedly stealing cash from MVA patient

** Air safety investigators in Russia say a May 2 ambulance crash near Kazan was likely caused by engine failure. That is the word from RIA Novosti (May 2) which said the accident, which claimed no lives, resulted in the Mi-2 chopper bursting into flames on impact. Two pilots and a doctor were onboard. Kazan is located in the country’s Tatarstan republic.

** A Niagara County, New York EMT is expected in court May 14, after being accused of stealing money from a patient. WGRZ (May 8) said Anthony L. Murphy, who works for Rural Metro, allegedly took an undisclosed amount of cash. According to the news station, he stole the bills while attending at an MVA scene. As a result of a police investigation, Murphy has been tagged with one count of petit larceny.
