** UK ambulance service bracing for call volume spike during World Cup game this weekend

** A Rogers County, Oklahoma EMT has been arrested after allegedly being involved in producing methamphetamine. News On 6 (June 11) said Miller EMS EMT Jacob Kinnon is currently on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation. According to the news site, Kinnon and possible meth cook Robert Lavern were taken into custody after a lengthy undercover investigation by the THUG Task Force. Lavern came under suspicion after complaints from area residents, while Kinnon, who was not previously known as an associate, was happened upon during the course of the look-see.

** Ambulance brass in Northamptonshire are bracing for a predicted 15 per cent increase in ambulance help hails this weekend, largely due to the World Cup. That is the word from the Northamptonshire Telegraph (June 12) which said good weather is fuelling the prediction as is the scheduled Saturday evening game involving England vs. Italy. Because of the anticipated spike, EMS bosses are asking the public not to ring 999 if not necessary. East Midlands Ambulance Service Associate Director of Operations Joe Garcia also urged fans in the region to watch their alcohol intake.
