** Trial begins for New Hampshire EMT/firefighter accused of setting alight occupied buildings
** Ohio man charged with stealing ambulance

** Trial proceedings begin this week for a New Hampshire EMT/firefighter who allegedly torched five occupied multi-unit Dover buildings on February 2, 2013. Fosters.com (Kimberley Haas/January 5) said Gregory Potter, 23, stands accused of arson x 5 and criminal mischief x 3. Prosecutors opted to drop a charge of falsifying physical evidence. According to the newspaper, jury selection began in the case Monday. If convicted, Potter could face between 7 1/2 and 15 years in prison. He could also be fined $4,000.
** Ohio police in Elyria have charged a 32-year-old man with felony theft for stealing an ambulance from outside an area medical center December 30th. The Northern Ohio Media Group (January 5) said Donald Shay was arrested Sunday. According to the newspaper, Shay made off with the EMS unit from outside the University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. The ambulance had just delivered a patient at the time. City dispatch tracked the unit until Shay abandoned it. Shay is scheduled to make his first appearance in court next Monday. He is currently being held in Lorain County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
