** Ohio paramedic/firefighter charged with raping 6-year-old girl

** A Columbus, Ohio paramedic/firefighter was indicted Monday on charges he repeatedly raped a 6-year-old girl 12 years ago. The Columbus Dispatch (Dean Narciso/April 20) said Timothy Durbin, 51, now faces charges including rape x 3, gross sexual imposition x 3 and kidnapping. The incidents allegedly occurred between July 1, 2003 and July 31, 2004. According to the newspaper, the victim is a relative of his Durbin’s ex-wife. If convicted of the crimes, he could face life in prison without parole. Working for the local fire department for the past 20 years, Durbin has a clean record. Following his arrest, he was released from jail after posting a $60,000 bond. Pending the outcome of the case, he has been placed on administrative leave.
