** UK paramedic facing jail for sexual misconduct with unconscious patient
** Mississippi paramedic returns home after weeks in hospital following July hit by drunk driver

** A Durham paramedic is facing jail after admitting to sexual misconduct with a female patient April 12th. That is the word from The Northern Echo (Bruce Unwin/December 9) which said Fencehouses resident William Thomas Mitchell, 57, was caught on in-ambulance CCTV video fondling a semi-conscious patient’s breasts and placing her hand on his penis. Mitchell, 57, pleaded guilty Monday to misconduct in public office. Judge Christopher Prince set sentencing for January 24th at which time he suggested a custodial sentence may be in the offing.
** A female Mississippi paramedic, severely injured in a July 31st drunk driver crash, is finally out of hospital and recuperating at her Brandon home. The Clarion Ledger (December 5) said American Medical Response medic Jennifer Hesselbein, 28, is working her way back to health after suffering the loss of sight in one eye and a temporary inability to walk. Hesselbein has now gone through 18 surgeries as a result of the accident which occurred on the job as she was tending an MVA victim in Jackson. She has been undergoing rehab therapy since early October. She is now able to use a walker to take short walks and can take care of simple tasks.
