** A Chicago university student is facing felony assault charges after he allegedly attacked a female paramedic trying to aid him. WLS (November 25) said DuPaul University attendee Erik Kawar was charged Monday in relation to the November 1st incident. According to the newspaper, Kawar’s girlfriend hailed EMS when he hit his head on pavement after becoming drunk. Once on-scene, paramedic Kelly Begley attempted to treat him, but was met with both verbal abuse and a punch to the face. She was then pushed into a wall and tackled. Begley suffered a black eye in the attack. A court date for Kawar has not yet been set.
** A Clackamas, Oregon hospital was evacuated Tuesday after an ambulance began leaking fuel outside the facility. KPTV (Paul Craig/November 27) said the unit lost between 10 and 40 gallons of diesel, creating noxious fumes.The Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center incident began around 6 p.m. No one was injured. A private company was hailed to undertake the clean-up.
