** A Standish, Michigan paramedic will be arraigned October 17 on child molestation charges. The Bay City Times (Helen Lounsbury/October 3) said David Spresny, 42, who was arrested July 12, faces the charges in relation to incidents which occured on the job. According to the newspaper, Spresny allegedly digitally penetrated a 16-year-old female patient while she lay strapped to a backboard. Spresny had been hailed to attend on the teen at an Alger beach party. Along with the aforementioned, police have also alleged Spresny fondled the girl’s breasts. All four sexual misconduct charges are felonies. Spresny, who has claimed innocence in the case, is a suspended employee of Mobile Medical Response.

** A Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service supervisor is apparently licking his wounds, after being attacked while on duty Wednesday. The Winnipeg Sun (Chris Kitching/October 3) said the 2:30 a.m. assault, which took place in the city’s North End, began as the medic was inside his vehicle jotting down call notes. According to the newspaper, the assailant was not a patient or anyone related to the call. No hospital treatment was required. Police arrested the man a short time later.
