** A Georgia paramedic from Macon is recovering after being stabbed at a gas station Monday while he was off duty. The Clayton News-Daily (Robin Kemp/January 22) said the 7:34 p.m. incident, which took place at a Circle K, resulted in paramedic/firefighter Alex Mims, 34, ending up in stable condition in hospital. According to the newspaper, the attack played out after three suspects turned on Mims after they harassed a clerk. A physical fight followed outside the store. Mims then retrieved a rifle from his truck, forcing the assailants to flee. Stabbed in the abdomen, Mims suffered a lacerated liver. Police have issued a Crime Stoppers plea for information on the incident. So far, no suspects have been arrested.
