** Philadelphia paramedic sentenced to 4 years in jail

** An Oklahoma EMT is dead after a Thursday motorcycle crash in western Kansas. KAKE (May 17) said Seward County responder Chad McIntire, 38, of Turpin lost control of his bike on U-83 around 1:40 a.m near Liberal. McIntire was thrown during the collision and died at the scene. Police are investigating.

** Defrauding the federal Medicare health program has landed one Philadelphia paramedic in the clink for the next four years. That is the word from Myfoxphilly (May 16) which said Ivan Tkach, 30, was handed the sentence yesterday. According to the news site, Tkach landed in trouble with the law back in 2007 for working EMS illegally. Although details were not provided, he had been barred from prehospital service provision by the federal government.
