** Second London car bomb intended for paramedics
** Queensland Ambulance officer attacked
UNITED KINGDOM NEWS
** London paramedics are likely breathing a sigh of relief, after learning a second car bomb found in the city last week was intended to take them out. That is the word from Scotland on Sunday (Nicholas Christian/July 2) which said a senior security source confirmed the secondary blast was aimed at first responders. Quoting an anonymous official, the newspaper said both explosions were to kill as many people as possible. Meanwhile, police are crediting an EMS crew with saving, perhaps, hundreds of lives when they alerted authorities to the bomb equipped Mercedes in the West End. The second explosive, however,  was not detected until the Park Lane car was impounded for illegal parking. Police were hailed after staff noted an overpowering smell of gasoline emanating from the Mercedes.

** A Saturday incident, in which a man spat on a Queensland Ambulance Officer, resulted in the medic undergoing a series of blood tests for infectious disease exposures. News.com.au (July 2) said the 6 p.m. assault, which occurred in Rockhampton, played out after the individual implored the driver of the unit to roll down his window. When the officer complied, the man let loose with his gob. Alighting from the vehicle, the officer was then spit upon again and attacked. Ambulance Employees Association spokesman Stephen Crow said the incident was disturbing. Police have now issued a bulletin, seeking the public’s help to apprehend the man.
