** UK medic fired for propositioning vulnerable female patient
UNITED KINGDOM NEWS
** A South West Ambulance Service medic from Swindon has been fired after he allegedly sent illicit text messages to a female patient in his care. That is the word from Somerset Live (Katie Timms/Jilliam MacMath/January 17) which said Christopher Wood was sidelined following a disciplinary hearing in London. According to the newspaper, Wood attempted to entice the vulnerable woman into sexual activity after a May 7, 2017 call to treat a cut she had on her hand. The texts continued until June 16th of that year. Along with being fired, Wood has also been suspended from practicing for six months by order of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). A second hearing could lead to reinstatement of his credentials following attendance at several courses involving dealing with vulnerable adults.
