AUSTRALIA NEWS

** A Fraser Coast, Queensland ambulance officer continues to recover after an early Tuesday incident in which an ambulance attack resulted in glass being sprayed into his eye. The Daily Mail (Shrie Gayathirie Rajen/May 29) said the medic sustained the minor eye injuries after a bystander broke the EMS unit’s windshield with a metal bar. According to the newspaper, the bystander, 56, had flagged the prehospital rig down around 12 a.m. while it was transporting a patient. The same man also apparently broke the windshield of an unmarked Maryborough police car while it was parked at its station. Police said the man was taken into custody after first being checked out at a nearby hospital. There is no word on his motive for the attacks.
