** Ohio police in Dayton arrested a man Friday after he allegedly stole an ambulance with both a paramedic and a patient still inside. That is the word from WHIO TV 7 (October 21) which said Jeffrey Lamar Brown, 44, has been charged with the felonies of suspicion of robbery and kidnapping x 2. According to the news station, Brown apparently took the unit around 6:30 p.m. after finding the keys to the vehicle still in the ignition. Police apprehended him about a half an hour later. Arraignment is set for today.
** A Waco, Texas paramedic is scheduled for his fourteenth surgery this week in his bid to recover from an on-duty MVA caused by a drunk driver. KXXV (October 19) said Rory Barrios has been recovering at a Temple hospital since the August mishap. According to the news site, Barrios suffered several broken bones in the crash. Surgeons have also had to rebuild his pelvis.
