US Medal of Honor recipient Pfc. Charles D. Barger. Barger received his citation for bravery on October 31, 1918 in Bois de Bantheville, France. Barger and another stretcher bearer rescued 2 wounded officers while under heavy machine gun fire some 500 yards beyond US lines.
