** A Pennsylvania woman from Easton faces a slew of charges after allegedly assaulting both a paramedic and a police officer Friday. WFMZ (Edward Sieger/April 1) said Ana G. Diego, 26, who was apparently drunk at the time, attacked the two men both before and after hospital treatment. According to the newspaper, Diego was at the scene of a reported shooting when she became belligerent while being questioned for information. Slurring her words and sporting an uncertain gait, she was transported to hospital via ambulance. While en route, she punched the attending paramedic in the face and then hauled off and kicked and punched the police officer. After her release from medical treatment, she again attacked, kicking a cop in the head while she was loaded into the police cruiser. She has been charged with aggravated assault x 6 and simple assault. Resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, harassment, and public drunkenness could also be added to the list. There is no word on her next court date or the extent of the injuries her victims suffered.
** A pre-trial hearing is set for April 14th for a former US Army combat medic from Kentucky accused of killing a twenty-month-old toddler last fall. WLKY (Steve Burgin/April 1) said Bradley Hanlon, 31, of Louisville, denied culpability at a December court appearance in the September 25th death of Hannah Fowler. Hanlon, who was babysitting the child for his girlfriend at the time, told investigators she began choking and vomiting after being sick for a few days. He tried both the Heimlich and CPR but to no avail. Police, however, say Hannah’s autopsy showed evidence of brain bleeding likely brought on by shaking. She also had bruising on both ears. Hanlon, meanwhile, continues to be held in jail without bond pending his next court appearance.
