** A Santa Clara County, California teen will serve nearly 5 decades in jail in connection with the
shooting death of paramedic Quinn Boyer, 34. The San Jose Mercury News
(Malaika Fraley/December 4) said David McNeal, 17, who was 15 at the time the crime was
committed, was handed the sentence Friday. According to the newspaper, McNeal was convicted
in September of first degree murder as an aider and abetter for providing the gun that killed Boyer.
He also shot a 14-year-old boy in the buttocks a day later. Boyer died April 2, 2013, two days after
being shot while in his car at roadside sending a text message. The alleged shooter, Christian
Burton, 19, is set for a retrial in March.
** A Clayton, Illinois paramedic/firefighter remained in jail over the weekend pending the
posting of a $50,000 bond after being arrested last Monday for soliciting a minor. KSDK
(Lauren Nobbe/December 1) said Daniel W. Pellegrini, 45, allegedly used a variety of media to
contact the 16-year-old Cahokia girl. According to the new site, he is now on administrative leave
from his job. Further details on the case have not yet been made public.
