** A three-year-old Newark, New Jersey girl is fighting for her life in hospital after being hit by an ambulance at a city intersection Tuesday. The New Jersey Advance (Noah Cohen/July 20) said the EMS unit was en route to a patient pick-up at the time and was not lit up. The circumstances of the accident have not been released. The child was transported to University Hospital. There is also no word on whether the driver of the ambulance will face charges in the matter.
** Police in Scranton, Pennsylvania are searching for a thief who stole an ambulance company’s credit card Tuesday and then proceeded to run up $600 in charges. The Times-Tribune (Joseph Kohut/July 20) said the card was reported missing from Commonwealth EMS around 2 p.m. Police say they remain uncertain as to when it was actually taken, however, and said they are also unclear as to the exact times when charges were made on the card. In the meantime, however, police have appealed to the public for information on the theft.
