** Texas police in Fort Worth have charged an area man for stealing an ambulance after he took the prehospital rig to a neighbourhood Jack In the Box restaurant because he said he was hungry. That is the word from Fox 4 (Claire Z. Cardona/July 17) which said My Nguyen, 24, was charged Sunday with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Nguyen stole the ambulance around 3:20 a.m. from Baylor University Medical Center.

** A Liverpool man has been jailed for four months after hitting an ambulance, injuring the paramedics, and then telling police, “S**t happens.” The Liverpool Echo (Neil Docking/July 15) said Daniel Martin Kelly, 25, was also handed a two year driving prohibition. According to the newspaper, Kelly undertook his escapades on June 2nd around 11:30 p.m., blowing through several red lights before being stopped by a police officer. He then sped off before the officer could speak to him, almost immediately hitting the ambulance. Paramedic Erin Holmes suffered neck stiffness and headaches as a result of the impact. Fellow practitioner Darren Dempsey, meanwhile, suffered neck, shoulder, and back pain, as well as headaches. Kelly has a lengthy driving record with the police including 36 previous convictions for 66 offences. He is currently serving six weeks in jail for breaching a theft related community order.
