UNITED STATES NEWS
** A Connecticut EMT is dead after her husband allegedly shot her to death at home Sunday night.
That is the word from WFSB (September 28) which said Shelton resident Lisa Infante, who was a
mother of four, apparently died as a result of a domestic dispute. Police said the 2 were seeking
divorce proceedings after 27 years of marriage. According to the newspaper, her husband Thomas
turned himself in to police Monday. Lisa, who worked with Echo Hose Ambulance, was remembered
as a selfless caregiver who was also an excellent EMT. Thomas Infante, meanwhile, appeared in court yesterday.
Funeral services are pending.
** Indianapolis EMS chiefs are investigating after a teenaged shoplifting suspect died from a heart
attack after EMS gave him the all clear Saturday. The New York Daily News
(Nina Golgowski/September 28) said Terrell Day died in the back of a second ambulance after
repeatedly complaining that he was having trouble breathing. According to the newspaper, the
initial prehospital crew was originally hailed when Day, 18, was found inert on the grass following a
sprint from the Burlington Coat Factory. Witnesses said he had pointed a gun at a security guard
and stole an item before fleeing. After being checked out by the first EMS crew, a jail wagon was
hailed to transport him to a detention centre. When he again complained of shortness of breath,
a second unit was called. He was en route to hospital when he died. A spokesman for Indianapolis
EMS said while the service is confident proper prehospital care was rendered, a full scrutiny of the
call is being undertaken.
