UNITED STATES NEWS
** Sentencing has been set for January for a Kentucky man who pleaded guilty Tuesday to causing the death of a patient in a July ambulance crash. WKRC (December 10) said Gallatin County resident Hunter Legrand accepted a plea deal in relation to the demise of John Little, 59. According to the newspaper, Little died after the jeep Legrand was driving crossed the center line, striking the EMS unit head-on and flipping the ambulance on its roof. With an OVI charge dismissed, Legrand accepted guilty tags for manslaughter, assault, criminal mischief, and leaving the scene of an accident.
** A Washington paramedic has pleaded not guilty to stealing drugs from his ambulance service. That is the word from KONP (December 9) which said Port Angeles resident Paul Rynearson, 40, appeared in court Friday. According to the news station, Rynearson faces tags for second-degree burglary and third-degree theft. Police allege Rynearson stole the drugs this past fall for his own personal use. He was placed on administrative leave for other reasons but has since resigned. His next court date is in mid-January.
