** Alabama authorities indict man in driving death of EMT

** Ontario paramedic arrested on child porn charges

** Officials in Montgomery, Alabama have indicted a man in the driving death of a local EMT. WSFA (June 23) said Robert Allen Cumbie, 42, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in the demise of Laura Elizabeth Pullam, 29. According to the news site, Pullam was struck and killed December 15 as she was aiding victims of an MVA. Police at the time said Cumbie was passing the accident scene at a high rate of speed. Road conditions were icy. Cumbie’s trial date has yet to be set.

CANADA NEWS

** A Niagara Falls, Ontario paramedic has been arrested and charged with child porn possession. The Niagara Falls Review (Brett Clarkson/June 24) said Andrew Caston, 46, who was taken into custody Thursday, also faces tags for accessing child pornography and making child pornography available. A long time member of Niagara EMS, Caston appeared in court in St. Catherine’s on Friday. Niagara EMS Chief John Cunnane declined to tell the newspaper whether or not Caston was suspended pending the outcome of the case.
