** UK trekkers to undertake memorial walk around island in honor of deceased paramedic

** Australian medic’s family donates his organs after fall death

UNITED KINGDOM NEWS

** A 24-hour memorial walk in honor of the memory of a Harpenden paramedic has been set for this Saturday. The St. Albans Review (June 13) said the Doogles Dawdle, dubbed to recognize Lorna Lambden’s nickname, will see participants circumnavigate the Isle of Wight during a day long counter clockwise jaunt. The event follows similar challenges done in tribute to the paramedic who passed away suddenly December 17. An autopsy found she died of a cardiac arrythmia. Lambden’s father and sister have taken part in the London Marathon and in a trip to the Mt. Everest base camp. Lambden’s sister Heather said Lorna was a thrill seeker who would have enjoyed such opportunities. Participants hope to raise 1,000 pounds for London Air Ambulance and the Cowes RNLI boat house.

AUSTRALIA NEWS

** Family members of a South Australian paramedic who died while on a US holiday earlier this month say the 34-year-old’s organs have been donated. Nursing Careers Allied Health (June 12) said intensive care paramedic Russell Liston’s gift of life has helped 8 different people. Liston, who fell from his hotel balcony while in Santa Monica, California, was set to begin a six month working holiday in Canada at the time of his death. A spokesman for Paramedics Australiasia said Liston was a valued colleague who would be missed. Police, meanwhile, continue to investigate Liston’s fall.
