** US Army medic in North Carolina found dead in his barracks;officials investigating

** US military medic from Minnesota killed in Iraq

** Army officials in Fort Bragg, North Carolina are investigating the untimely death of a military medic who was found dead in his bed Sunday morning. KWTX (June 8) said the body of Pfc. Jeffrey Hyde, 29, was discovered in his barracks. According to the news site, Hyde, who hailed from Irving, had been with the Army since 2008. He served in Iraq from August 2009 to July 2010.

** A Madelia, Minnesota military medic was killed in combat in Iraq Monday. That is the word from the Duluth News Tribune (AP/June 8) which said the remains of Sgt. Emilio Campo, Jr., 20, who had wanted to become a doctor, were returned to Delaware’s Dover Air Force Base yesterday. According to the newspaper, circumstances surrounding Campo’s death are not yet available. Graduating in 2009 from high school, he joined the services shortly afterwards. Campo leaves behind his parents, two brothers, and extended family to mourn. Funeral services are pending.
