** A former Stapleton paramedic, who was driving drunk behind the wheel of an ambulance at the time of a multi-vehicle crash last year, has been sentenced to community service. That is the word from the BBC (April 14) which said Robert Else, 39, who worked for the East Midlands Ambulance Service at the time of October 23rd incident, pleaded guilty Tuesday in city magistrate’s court. Originally claiming innocence, he changed his plea at the last minute. The EMS unit was not carrying a patient at the time. The seven car crash, which occurred near Bardills Island, Nottingham, injured four people.
