** Florida medic in serious condition after ambulance/truck crash;two people dead

** UK paramedic facing misconduct charges after allegedly ignoring fatal heart attack patient

** A Jacksonville, Florida paramedic remains in hospital in serious condition, after a collision with a truck Sunday left two people dead. The Times-Union (December 1) said Brian Wayne Gray, 25, who works for Liberty Ambulance, ended up in the crash around 8 p.m. A passenger in the EMS unit was also transported to hospital and is listed in serious condition. Both ambulance occupants were wearing seatbelts. Truck occupants Megan Elizabeth Bunn, 18, and Jason Linder, 19, died in the mishap. Three other truck passengers are in hospital in serious or critical condition. The newspaper said authorities remain uncertain as to which vehicle sparked the accident. According to the newspaper, the ambulance had just completed a patient drop-off when the mishap occurred. It was not lit up at the time.

** A Norwich paramedic faces misconduct charges, after allegedly ignoring a patient in the midst of a heart attack. Teletext (November 28) said the June17, 2007 incident took place in Cambridgeshire. According to the news site, practitioner Gemma Cobden, who could be slapped with similar tags in relation to another patient, apparently remained with her hands in her pocket after the male patient collapsed. The man later died.
