** An Edmonton, Alberta ambulance thief has been given an 18 month conditional sentence. That is the word from the CBC (October 31) which said David Sinclair, 33, was handed the tag for the New Year’s Eve heist, as well as for driving drunk and failing to stop for police. According to the news service, Sinclair, who was high on cocaine at the time, stole the unit after escaping from stretcher based cloth restraints. Sparking a high speed lights and sirens chase, he told the court he remembers nothing of the incident.

** A McKeesport, Pennsylvania paramedic, who videotaped a music filled joyride through city streets and then posted his exploit on YouTube, is about to be dinged by police. That is the word from WPXI (October 31) which said the unidentified medic and the colleague who taped him are expected to be charged shortly. Police are currently viewing the tape to narrow down the date the offence occurred. According to the news station, the former TransCare Pennsylvania Inc. employee both sings and dances while behind the wheel of the speeding unit.
