Medics test their skills in competition setting. The 2008 Canadian National Paramedic Competition will be held April 5th 2008 in Oshawa Ontario.

The Competition challenges Paramedics of all levels ALS, BLS and Paramedic student in a one day challenge that has become a major event in Canadian EMS.

“Over the last six years we have seen tremendous growth” Rob Johnstone Competition committee.

The Competition is non-profit and all involved donate their time.

“The Competition strives to raise funds for charity and we have raised approx. $13.000 over the last six years for the Starlight Starbright foundation, something we are very proud of” Rob Johnstone.

Last years Competition was well attended by the media and the general public allowing Canadian EMS a chance to promote themselves as well.

“Paramedics find this a challenging event, as well as an opportunity to network and compare skills, Parkland EMS out of Alberta are the team to beat, they have been crowned National Champions twice now” Doug Hamilton Competition Committee.

“The new venue will be an exciting place to be” Rob Johnstone.

The Competition will be held in Oshawa Ontario at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) in association with Durham College and the Durham Regional Police learning centre. The facility will provide an exceptional atmosphere for scenarios.

The awards gala will be held at the Jubilee pavilion on the Oshawa waterfront.

Teams will soon be able to register on the website www.paramediccompetition.ca

It’s suggested that teams register early this year to avoid disappointment.

Sponsorship is available in 3 category’s and includes booth space at the venue.

Sponsor dollars go towards promoting the Competition to Paramedics across Canada as well as ensuring a world class event.
