** South Australia ambulance officers ponder deal

CANADA NEWS

** EMS, fire and other city services during the Stanley Cup finals cost Ottawa some $340,000. That is the word from CFRA (Josh Pringle/June 26) which said the tally is only a part of the overall $900,000 bill sustained by the city during the Senators-Anaheim series. Police overtime and operational expenses ran around $572,000. Deputy City Manager Steve Kanellakos is suggesting reimbursement for the outlay wait until year end.

AUSTRALIA NEWS

** South Australia ambulance officers are considering a government contract offer that would hike salaries 25 per cent over three years.
