UNITED KINGDOM NEWS
** A Blackpool man is now a registered sex offender after indecently assaulting a female paramedic June 20th. The Blackpool Gazette (July 12) said that is just one of the penalties given to Mark Fricker, 46, who pleaded guilty yesterday to inappropriately touching the 23-year-old practitioner. According to the newspaper, Fricker preceded his assault by making lewd comments to the woman. He had been drinking vodka prior to the attack. Medics had been hailed when he collapsed. Along with the above mentioned, Fricker was also tasked with serving 4 weeks in jail suspended for 12 months and one year supervised probation. He was additionally ordered to pay victim compensation and court costs.

** Slamming his fist into the back of a female paramedic attempting to adjust his wheelchair has netted one New South Wales man little more than a tap on the wrist by way of penalty. The Central Western Daily (August 12) said Orange resident Abraham Pourece, 39, was handed a suspended jail sentence in the assault that saw the EMS provider cry out in pain. According to the newspaper, Pourece, who was apparently drunk at the time, appeared to mitigate his potential sentence early on. He wrote the woman an apology letter prior to his court appearance.
