** Oklahoma ambulance strikes cow;medics recovering
** South African paramedic robbed, stabbed while at ATM

** A Lincoln County, Oklahoma ambulance crew continue to cover after sustaining injuries when their EMS unit hit a cow Friday. News On 6 (Matthew Nuttle/May 17) said the driver of the rig suffered back and neck pain as a result of the incident. According to the news site, the ambulance was lit up and responding to a call at the time of the crash. Police say the animal simply wondered out onto the road at the wrong time.When the EMS unit swerved to avoid the cow, the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled. No patients were onboard at the time.

** A Johannesburg paramedic continues to recover from stab wounds after being attacked last Wednesday at an instant cash machine. EDP 24 (May 14) said Kgaugelo Moroamohwebedu, who was in uniform at the time, sustained four wounds on his arm in the attack. According to the newspaper, the two assailants also slashed at his face with a broken juice bottle as they robbed him of his cell phone and money. While Moroamohwebedu complied with the request, he refused to hand over his utility vest or any medications he had. Following the assault, he walked to his ambulance station for medical treatment. Police continue to investigate.
