UNITED STATES NEWS
** The driver of an Iowa ambulance that crashed and rolled early Wednesday morning has been ticketed by police for failing to maintain control. That is the word from KWWL (July 9) which said the unidentified medic is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel just prior to the 4:30 a.m. crash near Newton. According to the news site, the driver has denied the allegation, saying the wind blew the EMS rig off course. Both the driver and the attendant, who was sleeping in back, were transported to hospital suffering undisclosed injuries. There was no patient onboard at the time.
** A Texas paramedic has been suspended without pay from her job after being arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon.
