Prairie Mountain Health/Santé Prairie Mountain (PMH) s one of five regional health authorities in Manitoba.  PMH covers a geographically large area, around 67,000 sq. kilometers with a population of over 165 000 people, spread across a wide variety of urban, rural, and remote communities including 14 First Nation Communities.  PMH employs over 8,500 employees who work together to improve the physical, mental, social, cultural and spiritual needs of individuals, families and communities in Western Manitoba.

The Emergency Medical Services Program currently has openings for full time Primary Care Paramedics in multiple locations including; Russell, Shoal Lake, Roblin, Waterhen, Swan River, and Deloraine.  Additional positions are posted Monday – Friday every week. All current postings can be viewed at:

1) Paramedic/firfighter – City of Virginia, Minnesota – Closing: August 17, 2018


The City of Virginia, MN has two (2) vacant positions with an immediate start date.

Minimum requirement includes CPAT certification at the time of hire. NREMT Paramedic certification preferred; otherwise current enrollment in a Paramedic certification program required. Candidate must have completed be MN Fire Certification Board Firefighter I and II certified and ability to be licensed by the MBFTE.

We are looking for a self-motivated, detail oriented, dedicated individual to serve on our Fire/EMS career team. The candidate must have a strong work ethic, EMS and Fire experience, and an insurable driving record. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Response to fire and emergency medical calls within the City of Virginia Service Area and to surrounding mutual aid communities.
  • Participate in Fire and EMS training events.
  • Assist with fire prevention and public education programs.
  • Administrative, operational, and housekeeping duties associated with daily firehouse operations.
