AMBULANCE DISPATCHER Full-Time, Part-Time, Casual Positions Available
Start a rewarding career as an ambulance dispatcher. The Medical Transportation Coordination Centre (MTCC) is a state-of-the-art Communication Centre located in Brandon, specializing in prehospital ground and air transportation and communication. The MTCC offers a competitive salary scale and benefits package.
As the front line staff, the System Status Controllers (calltaker/dispatcher) will receive emergency calls from the public and dispatch the most appropriate EMS resources using computer-aided-dispatching systems (CAD) that incorporate medical priority dispatch software and mapping/GPS technology. Digital radio and telephony equipment is used to communicate with ambulances and other public safety agencies.
MTCC will train individuals, possessing the necessary attributes and qualifications to perform the necessary job functions. Minimum qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Keyboarding speed greater than 35 wpm.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work shifts.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Valid standard CPR certification.
- Must be competent with Windows based programs.
- Strong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills.
- Manitoba EMS-Technician (EMR) License. May be obtained following start date.
- Past experience working in a call centre.
- Emergency Medical Services experience.
- Training in paramedicine or other relevant medical training.
MTCC will consider educational assistance for successful candidates who do not possess at minimum a Manitoba EMS-Technician (EMR) License.

Duck Mountain Ambulance is an active and progressive rural emergency paramedic service with an annual call volume in excess of 1200 calls annually. We service the community of Kamsack with a population of 2000 plus our geographic area includes two first nations’ reserves to the north as well we provide service to the east into Manitoba. Out satellite station in Norquay provides service to its surrounding area including a third first nation’s reserve.
Our fleet consists of 4 units in Kamsack and a 5th in Norquay along with a rover vehicle, we employ 12 full time staff and a pool of casual staff who come for a new experience. Staffing includes EMR – ACP with combined years of experience in excess of 200 years. We are settled in modern facilities with a spacious 4 bay garage, modern living quarters, fitness equipment, training centre, modern communications including Internet satellite TV as well as our administration offices.
The Kamsack area is set in the beautiful backdrop of the scenic Duck Mountain Provincial Park which boarders Manitoba. The area offers recreational activities that include Skiing, Fishing, Camping, Snowmobiling, Quading and Golfing. The community of Kamsack offers a golf course, Hockey arena, Curling rink, swimming pool and movie theatre, as well as seasonal activities and community events..
