** Wisconsin medic given probation for stealing narcotics from ambulance service
** Washington EMT suspended for 15 years after being accused of sexual contact with child
UNITED STATES NEWS
** A Wisconsin paramedic got off with little more than a slap on the wrist after being sentenced last week to only 2 years probation for stealing narcotics from his ambulance service. The Leader Telegram (September 4) said Maxwell, J. Bauer, 30, of Lake Hallie, pleaded guilty to obtaining prescription drugs by fraud x 4. According to the newspaper, the plea was part of a deal that saw other charges against him dismissed. These included felony forgery and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud tags. The case relates to crimes committed between June 4th and November 4th of last year. Bauer admitted to changing drug reports to obtain the meds. He did this by falsifying other medics’ signatures and lying about how much of a drug was used on a call. At the time of the crimes, he was employed with Rice Lake’s Lakeview Medical Center.
** A Lewis County, Washington EMT, accused of having sexual contact with a child, has had his EMS licence suspended for 15 years. That is the word from KOMO (September 5) which said Richard Lovell Crumbliss was handed the decision last week. According to the news station, Crumbliss did not appeal the matter via a special hearing. There is no word on his next court date. However, he has been charged with three felony sex crimes.
