** New York 9/11 museum inundated with new artifacts since May opening
** New Jersey paramedic indicted for allegedly stealing credit card from unconscious patient
UNITED STATES NEWS
** The new National September 11 Memorial Museum in New York has apparently been inundated with 9/11 artifacts since its May opening earlier this year. That is the word from Fox News (AP/September 10) which said surviving relatives and friends who visit the site are the main contributors. According to the news station, some 135 items have recently been gifted. Among these are items of clothing worn by rescuers, photos, and personal effects of some of the 3,000 people lost that day. In addition, the museum also boasts artifacts speaking to the after effects of the attack. One display includes a Navy Seal uniform shirt worn on the Osama bin Laden raid. Currently, the collection includes 39,000 items. Today marks the 13th anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks.
** A New Jersey paramedic has been indicted on charges she stole a credit card from an unconscious patient in her care. The Patch (Karen Wall/September 10) said Toms River resident Lori Wegner, 42, allegedly committed the crime at a July 17th car accident. A subsequent attempt to use the card failed due to insufficient funds. According to the newspaper, Wegner was indefinitely suspended on August 25th. The Monday indictment in Monmouth County includes the fourth degree crime of credit card theft and the third degree infraction of fraudulent use of a credit card.
