** Retired Australian ambulance officer from New South Wales pleads not guilty to murdering wife 40 years ago

AUSTRALIA NEWS

** A retired ambulance officer from New South Wales appeared in court Thursday to plead not guilty to murdering his wife in 1982. That is the word from The Daily Mail (AAP/October 2) which said Walgett resident John Bowie, 70, has been charged with killing Roxlyn Margaret Bowie, 31. According to the newspaper, Roxlyn’s body has never been found. Prosecutors contend Bowie was a womanizer who rid himself of his wife by disposing of her remains at a pig farm. The defence, meanwhile, says Roxlyn may actually be still alive and simply does not want to be found. Bowie’s next appearance in court  is December 11th at which time a trial date will be set.
