** Yet another New York EMT has committed suicide, this time last Wednesday after working EMS for the city since 2014. The New York Post (Vincent Barone/Susan Edelman/July 17) said the death of Brandon Dorsa, 36, marks the third prehospital practitioner who has taken his own life during the pandemic. According to the newspaper, Dorsa worked in EMS Dispatch Operations. EMT John Modello, 23, meanwhile, shot himself to death in April, while Lieutenant Matthew Keene, 38, did similarly in June. EMS union spokesman Oren Barzilary said the loss of the three emphasizes the need for workplace trauma support.
