** North Carolina man arrested, charged after running down EMS worker

UNITED STATES NEWS

** A North Carolina man from Fayetteville is facing a raft of charges after stealing a police car and striking an EMS medic Sunday. That is the word from CBS 17 (June 29) which said Icchaan Kishun, 31, has been tagged with common law robbery, assault on a law enforcement officer causing physical injury, felony fleeing to elude arrest, assault on an emergency medical personnel, and felony hit-and-run. Several traffic offences were also added to the line-up. According to the news service, Kishun made off with the cruiser around 8 a.m. after officers and EMS were dispatched to a call for an agitated man. Once they were on-scene, Kishun struggled with police, jumped into the police car, drove, and dragged an officer attempting to stop the heist. The latter was thrown from the vehicle at the same time the car hit the medic. There is no word on whether or not the officer or prehospital worker was injured in the melee. Following a high speed chase and hitting several other cars, Kishun was taken into custody after he crashed into a ditch. He remains in a Cumberland County jail pending the posting of $14,500 secured bond.
